Classroom Copyright
When I was in school I thought that our teachers could just put in a movie for the class to watch if the weather was bad during recess time. The copyright laws for classrooms says that teachers can only use media clips that pertian to the lesson plan without being personally liable. Global Grid for Learning is a great place where teacher can visit online to get copyright-cleared information and media for the classroom. It is important to make sure that copyright issues are taking care of because as a teacher you do not want to have to pay a fine over pictures, or sounds, or video clips.
I had no idea about the movie clip fact either, and was shocked when I found it out. I agree that if you do not pay attention to the rules, you will end up in trouble for something that could have be easily avoided.
